three words & wishful thinking

the weather i want

where i want to be

i love three-word writing prompts. i actually think i love writing them more than i love being prompted (?) by them.

here are some three-word prompts i wrote for my story golden:

unused wedding dress
picked-apart pastry
almost-empty pantry
splitting frozen logs
snipping paper snowflakes
spoonful of cream
thick wool hat
patterned oriental rugs
dented candy tins
lipstick blotting paper
dusty film reels
one got away
never-read books
fingers weave strands
military man posture
broad, stretching shoulders
shears in hand
lost in brick
empty, smoky courtyard

currently: feeling lazy and 100% done with being a responsible adult, cheers!

i wish it was late summer, early fall already.

and in other news, i've just discovered panic! at the disco's album too weird to live, too rare to die! and it is addictive and i'm overplaying it and i'm perfectly fine with that.

have a lovely evening!

floral film

sad but true: i used to hate spending time in nature. nothing about it really appealed to me. even the beautiful views didn't really strike me as extraordinary. i preferred photos of the view or words describing it.
now: i've grown more and more drawn to nature. i love the freshness, the feeling of new and natural and growing and raw. i have several plants in my room now and i love them so much. i wish i had a car so i could drive myself to beautiful, remote places and just center.
i think: i'm going to be a crazy plant lady when i get older. i'm okay with it.
so, for you: some of my photos of flora + favorite nature quotes.

new places, new spaces

dorm room (note adorable terrariums to your right) (yes our curtains could potentially belong to a twelve-year-old girl) (we enjoy the sparkliness)

went on a weekend trip to spokane with some friends! on friday megan and i woke up to this beautiful sunlight streaming through our window. in washington, sun = shot of instant happiness (for me, anyway).

gonzaga university

we explored gonzaga's beautiful campus and somehow made it to riverfront park and the radio flyer  slide (that's one thing to cross off my bucket list: slide down the handle of giant red wagon. YESSSS).

spokane river

the river was a grey, somber sort of pretty (wish it had been sunnier) and i took so many pictures (rivers bring out my shutter-happy side, what can i say).

friends on the steps

we walked around the city a bit and played laser tag (came in 21st, no big deal) and ate chipotle (aka food of the gods) and i bought some new jeans at the mall (in that white girl flow).

other ways i spent the weekend:
losing at ping pong
watching youtube videos (including laughing shamelessly hard at this one)
playing an impressive amount of board games, card games, and other assorted games (my favorite was this one)
listened to hours on hours on hours of music
having deep (and some not so deep) talks with friends
mourning my split ends (srsly a haircut is in order)

now i'm writing and avoiding homework and editing photos and may or may not be listening to the twilight: new moon soundtrack (cue haters).

anyway here's my procrastination playlist.

also, the ride home was beautiful

i love the pnw but, as one of my friends pointed out, california is sounding pretty good right now.

hello

welcome to my blog!
thanks for visiting +  i hope you stay for a while :)

wow, first post. such pressure.
well, here's me summed up in a twitter bio-esque list:
18
redhead/bedhead
penchant for caramel macchiatos
love new music, new books, new ways of thinking
ink, paint, film

here is me being comfy (note the blatant disregard for standard cropping).

sweater: forever 21

i'll post things that i find lovely or fun or generally noteworthy from daily life. expect anything. for example, this cat. it's basically the queen of an adorable green house/nursery i visited on a weekend home leave. it was far too fabulous to turn around but condescended to vaguely swish its tail a bit so i took what i could get.

shorty's nursery

my mom and sisters and i made terrariums here (highly recommended. hello new obsession.) and basically just spent too much on succulents, pots, organic honey, tea, and quirky chocolates.
here's part of their succulent collection and i want it. i want it all.

i also love taking pictures with an actual camera (not hating on iphoneography--i dabble in that as well). i'll post some of that on here, too! here's a photo of my best friend + roommate, megan, who shares my love of gossip girl, babybel cheese, and taking snapchat selfies that push the limits of "unflattering."

sweater, dress, necklace - forever 21

and of course, to finish it all off, the classic coffee cup shot. subtly showcasing my cool nail stickers (that i would just like to point out that i got for a freaking dollar fifty #bestillmythrifyheart).

i promise to be slightly more organized next time.
thanks for reading!
